I'm Anna Schwarz a cookery teacher and chef with a love of food and over 20 years’ experience.

I believe that cooking and eating with others are satisfying, creative and bring people together.

I really enjoy showing people that anyone - not just chefs - can make and enjoy delicious food.

I have a background in catering and teaching, and since 2003 I have brought the two together to work as a community cookery teacher.  Hundreds of people have come to my courses and gratifyingly said things like “I didn’t know it could be so easy,” and “I didn’t know I liked cooking”.

With experience and qualifications in patisserie, vegan cookery, teaching adults and teaching English as an additional language, I have created and taught cookery courses for a wide variety of groups and individuals. These include courses for people with learning disabilities, refugees and asylum seekers, families and people who would like to eat more healthily.

As well as setting up and running The Cardamom Pod I’m a founder member of Migrant English Project , The World Food Project and Hollingdean Wednesdays I have a wealth of experience at running and working with community and voluntary sector groups as well as schools, charities and businesses

I also play wind instruments from recorders to bagpipes and am lucky to get to play with Brighton Ceilidh Collective
